| ARCHES NATIONAL PARK - Moab, Utah - July
2002 I embarked on a road trip to the Southwest expecting so much. Arches National Park exceeded my expectations, even in July. The heat was intense, reaching above 100 degrees Feherenheit, so activities were limited to early morning and late afternoon. Fall would be just the perfect time. If you get the opportunity, try to make camp at Devils Garden, the only campground inside the park. It's first come, first serve, during the peak seasons (March-October), and gets full by 10 AM. I missed the chance, but there were enough private campgrounds just outside the entrance to the park. Another thing: do hike to Delicate Arch. You will be so glad you did the rest of your life. For the best experience, I recommend either an hour before sunrise or sunset. Click HERE to view the photos of the Delicate Arch trail. |
