CAPE ALAVA - SAND POINT LOOP

To do the Cape Alava-Sand Point Loop, it's probably best to leave Seattle at
about noon, especially if you want to hike out to the coast and camp there.
I left immediately after work Friday and boarded the Bainbridge Island ferry
at 8PM. The drive to Ozette Lake takes about four hours including the 30-minute
ferry ride. I got to the Lake after midnight, but managed to pitch my tent in
headlights and sleep soundly until 8 the next morning. At the trailhead is a
ranger station with facilities and plenty of helpful info about camping and
hiking in the area. The loop is triangular and 9.5 miles...
